I'd have to agree with this.

I'm going to try a web utility that will split pdf pages which I should be able to then recombine to make it suitable for booklet binding.

Hopefully that will work…

Otherwise it's staple on the left edge after double sided pricing which looks a bit amateurish.

I'm afraid I'm not a fan of the page orientation either. I was thinking old-school zine, which is basically letter-sized paper folded along the shorter axis. Such a format fits nicer on bookshelves and such, too.

But otherwise the design is excellent, and up to the usual standards for new TFT materials.

We've committed to taking a second issue to Kickstarter later this year, so . . . maybe? It will all depend on how much support that later issue can collect.

When I saw that Hexagram 1 is in landscape format, it was unexpected, but I have no issues with it (except issue 1). It is enjoyable to read, as I read most of it, and am already hyped for the next KS project, previewed within its pages.

The postcard adventures were cool. I was wondering what one looks like.

Regarding the Layout:

Perhaps SJG expected the demand to be mostly digital? Landscape may be unusual for a printed zine, but it actually makes more sense for reading on a computer screen.

PCs are a minority of digitial screens, especially at the gaming table.

There will be info on a postcard micro-labyrinth contest coming in the future. Steve mentioned the contest idea here:

YES! I already made my entry and formed it into a physical postcard with the proper dimensions.

Now I only hope that it meets the requirements.

Perhaps, but it's a snap to rotate tablets and phones to accommodate landscape PDFs.

Heh, I went on a tear when the idea was first mooted and have made three so far. I suspect I'll have to revisit them though when the specs come out for the contest. There's probably going to be minimum allowables for font and image size, for example. Like "all text must be at least 9pt Times New Roman" and "hexes on dungeon map must be at least one-quarter inch wide for legibility". I think my use of 8pt font is going to come back and bite me.
