Ice War? (30 year old war game)
I have a memory of playing a little mini war game, set in the Arctic, between North American Forces (meld of USA and Canada), and Eurasian forces ( IIRC a mix of the Chinese and Russians). The box was one of those little black plastic things, like the 2nd Ed OGRE etc. The map was a very simple hex grid, and the pieces included hovercraft and ski units. Lots of ski units.
Q: What was it actually called?

Not this one is it?
http://boardgamegeek.com/image/128070/arctic-front I found the description: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2579/arctic-front likely not what you're looking for, but is the best I've found so far. Last edited by alexondria; 04-13-2012 at 07:25 AM. |

No. But I did have that once.
Well spotted. And yes, that is not the game I am talking about. Actually, I've answered my own question. It is amazing what you find when you put the right search terms in the right database ( thanks Alexondria, I should have looked over on Board Game Geek). Here it is.

It was Metagaming's Microgame #9, as listed here. (Scroll down the list to 9 or search for Ice War.)
And here's a more detailed listing. |
