Swoon. She sounds like fun to play. My first attempt at my daughter's character was a bard/swash hybrid. But she ended up being pricey (makes sense: racial template plus a second professional lens). I was going to revise her as both templates individually to see how they compare. Now I can skip the swash. Thank you!
I wonder what the stats on a war sea horse might be? |

While searching for seahorses on Rasputin's DF monster list (made searchable and sortable by Bruno, I believe), I discovered a DF merfolk template in Pyramid 3/113 (in the article "All Wet" by Charles Saeger on page 25) that I had entirely forgotten about. Similar to what people have discussed here. A difference is that he gave Mermen the ability to dive deeper (Pressure Support 2) balanced by negative appearance. Cost is 25 points for either gender.

No worries. I was aiming for "about as kid-friendly as possible for DF" with the tone.
Very slightly modified Stallion from DF #5 p11 seems appropriate. Just trade Quadruped for Amphibious [0] and No Legs (Aquatic) [-5] and keeping No Fine Manipulators, swap Enhanced Move (Ground) for Enhanced Move (Water), swap Running for Swimming, and add Doesn't Breathe (Gills) [0] and Crushing Striker (Tail) (Long +100%) [10], remove Hooves and increase Night Vision by 3 and add Night-Adapted Vision x3 [0], then subtract 2 ST and you're good to go.
