Curses: The Occasionally Reliable Amulet vs. Wishing Ring
It's already clear from here (http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?t=81577) that given the ff scenario:
A curse hits a Munchkin. He has the Occasionally Reliable Amulet and a Wishing Ring. He has two options: Option 1- Use the Wishing Ring to cancel the curse. Amulet is safe. Option 2- Do not use the Wishing Ring. Roll for Amulet. If roll is bad, Amulet is destroyed and the curse hits. For Option 2, can the Munchkin still play the Wishing Ring to cancel the curse? (which arguably is the worst position to be in, since you would have lost two items to one curse) |

Re: Curses: The Occasionally Reliable Amulet vs. Wishing Ring
Given that you need to wait for the curse to hit you before the amulet activates, I would think you have missed the window to cancel the curse. If the amulet fails, you would suffer any immediate affects of the curse without any further chance to cancel them.
If that's a correct interpretation, you would still be able to use the Wishing Ring to cancel any lingering effects of the curse, such as a Chicken on your Head, Malign Mirror or the -5 penalty from Change Sex (but not the sex change itself in that case). |

Re: Curses: The Occasionally Reliable Amulet vs. Wishing Ring
You can choose to use either the Wishing Ring or the Occasionally Reliable Amulet first. If you use the Amulet first and it fails, you can still cancel the Curse with the Ring.
