Re: Spear vs Knights... am I missing something?
Probably not, but with that level of skill difference, the cat should be able to make the knight hurt himself, without the cat being hurt.
I do wonder how that would be gamed out, but unless I'm misunderstanding, this may be the wrong thread for it?

Re: Spear vs Knights... am I missing something?
if you use defensive feints to bring attack skill low enough, that widens the crit fail range (already penalized for size modifier)
I don't know how useful the high parrying ability from brawl would be though when it comes to Parrying Heavy Weapons you could do non-contact parries if the knight targeted the cat's limbs but I'm thinking he would just attack the torso as it's easiest if you had a super-high dodge then crit successes would make the successful attacks crit fail |

Re: Spear vs Knights... am I missing something?
Yes, certainly!
Assuming a cat is SM-3 (GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 5:Allies), and Small Size and Combat (Powers p.76), torso chinks are only -5 to hit, other chinks -7... and for humanoid armour, armour GAPS (Lowtech p.101) bypassing (all) armour might be only -5 to hit for an SM-3 foe... (thinking 'back of the knee' would be an easy target for a cat*) *(IRL my personal pet cat once sunk its fangs into my leg just under that point and a few days later I was in the hospital with it swollen up, infected (could not fit in shoes or boots!)... whenever I pass a 'komodo dragon' exhibit in the zoo I think of that moment... for "cutting" damage in GURPS domestic cats' teeth are needles about an inch long)

Re: Spear vs Knights... am I missing something?
According to B400, targeting chinks is only for piercing, impaling, or tight beam burning.

Re: Spear vs Knights... am I missing something?
I have had my cat give me The Eye...so tight beam burning it is.

Quote:
Hmm, Do I read armour Gaps correctly that any attack type can hit them? (LT101) They are introduced as "in addition to chinks", so they are not a type of chink... and "rigid armour cannot cover at all".
