Forgive my ignorance, here, so there are rules for these somewhere, perhaps in Ogre Miniatures? What's the benefit/cost?

Two squads of regular INF can be traded for 1 RNG squad. They are at -1 to be hit, kind of like the Ninja.

So, are these actual counter sheets? Double sided?
Or are these just paper handouts that can be cut to use?

They're just preview handouts, teasers so you can get a "feel" for the units before the actual assault packs hit the shelves.

We had a pile that we gave away at Dexcon. They are like postcards, so you can decide if they are really worth having.

Personally, I'd rather wait for the actual Assault Pack to put on the gameboard.

Of course, had I ordered extra counter sheets so I could glue these onto the second set, I might have a different answer there.

Some blank infantry counters would be boss in general.

Is the Assault Pack going to be for sale? Sound like something worth getting.

Are there counters you can order now? Rangers?

The Assault Packs will be for sale (I hear that's how they make money. ;) ). Ranger counters are going to be released with one of the Assault Packs. You'll have to wait until then for official counters.

I'm surprised. I don't think a 3/1 Ranger unit is cost-effective but putting a Ranger and two Regular infantry in a town gives you an effectively D18 unit. So Rangers are a great way to beef up a defensive line.
