Re: The Collaborative Gamer: GURPS Content Posts
Thursday is GURPSday, so in today's post I've started a new phase in my Example of World Creation series.
The short version: in the first phase of the series, we created a big map of a fantasy world, step by step. In this new phase, we're going to flesh that world out on area at a time. I'm rolling randomly for much off this, so there are bound to be some surprises - it should be a lot of fun! (and in fact, today's very first roll was a huge surprise to me...) Those Hawkmen came out of nowhere! Also: a few days back, I posted a huge collection of tables for naming fantasy locations. In the next phase of the World Creation series, we'll be testing these tables out by using them to generate flavorful names for all the Realms, Kingdoms, Rivers, Mountain Ranges etc on the map. All feedback welcome!

Another post today!
Today we continue the World Creation series, exploring eastwards up the river Rulreun into new territory. To my surprise, we find both ancient ruins... and hobbits! The post is here.

There were no huge surprises today, but today's post does feature a very beautiful lake, as well as this fantasy world's first elves!

....aaaaand another post!
This time we explore the monster-infested southern coast. What do we find? All manner of evils, from cultists to twisted merfolk who worship dark gods. Today's post also finally creates the Region in which the game begins, which is pretty important. The post is here.

This GURPSday, we head into the hills.
What do we find there? MINOTAURS! Rar! This one's for Bruno, if she's around :)

Whoa. I love your System for Developing and Resolving Plots. Love, love, love! Totally going to use that in my own games...

If you do end up using it, I'd be very interested to hear any war stories that result. A quick additional thought: you might need to adjust the point rewards for resolving plots, just a little, depending on the number of players at the table. (I.e. If you have very few players, the characters will be accumulating personal plot elements faster, so you might want to reduce the point reward for resolving those plots; and if you have a lot of players (say, 6-8), you might want to up the values, since it will take quite a long time for each character's personal plots to be resolved. Just a thought.) Thanks again for the kind words!
