Also, the No Personal Space thing can be reversed. If you keep too great a distance, in a culture where closeness is expected, that can well be an OPH ("Why does he keep away from me like that? Is he trying to insinuate that I have bad breath?"). But I don't think it'll be as bad as a -15 OPH in either case. |

Insulting a revered cultural icon in public.

Re: Odious Personal Habits
In many a large city there will be designated places where any conceivable activity is tolerated or even expected which would be an OPH in other places.

Regularly eating a bacon double-cheeseburger, while wearing a polyester T-shirt, on Saturday, at the Wailing Wall(not that I would ever do such a thing, but it took a little imagination to see how unkosher I could get).

Is it an OPH if you eat a hotdog at Auschwitz?

Re: Odious Personal Habits
Yes I thought of that, but I thought that went just a little to far into "dude, not funny" category for some reason. The first joke was stretching liberties a bit for a gentile though even pious Jews sometimes joke about religion, or so I heard, and would probably be willing to let it go with a grin of their own. But Auschwitz was not somewhere I wanted to go.
Also I wanted the ingenious device of seeing how many transgressions I could get into one sentence.

Re: Odious Personal Habits
That reminds me of that Chang's Mongolian Grill ad, "Somewhere Ghengis Khan is smiling...". But most viewers wouldn't care enough to be annoyed.

Insisting on only speaking in Monty Python And The Holy Grail quotes, and only responding to people who do the same? Beside being a "Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra" level of communication problem, that's possibly a -15 OPH. Either that, or a Delusion.
