I can see why people who GM campaigns set in the Traveller universe finds the sector books useful, but I'd really like to hear an explanation from people who find GT: Nobles worthwhile. As I recall, it doesn't even spend 1/8 of a page talking about the customary attitude of the Imperial Nobility towards anagathics.
Rim of Fire, the G:T Solomani setting book, is about the best setting book I've ever read. I'm not going to gainsay you, if you didn't like it you didn't like it. Both it and Nobles were well received when they were published, and I personally agree. Lots of Traveller setting information, character creation templates, and adventure ideas.

Sure, they do have a particular take on Science Fiction role playing, a take far different than Star Trek, for example, or Flash Gordon or Dr. Who. But they follow the Traveller ethos.

As to anagathics, the noble attitude is canon, established in the early days. It doesn't make a lot of sense, on the face of it, but that was established for the setting. And from a quick search of Nobles, it gives only one paragraph to the subject, implying people "stoop" to using them, and that they are illegal and/or immoral. The standard canon take on them per the 3I setting. Sure there could have been more, but its a book on Nobles.

And ... The point is now officially moot. As of today, GURPS shows one Traveller title in its annals, a not-yet sold physical copy. If you didn't get the one you wanted (and I made a pretty big run myself), then it's time to hit Amazon.

Supposedly Marc Miller's company will be offering the GURPS books on a CD, so its not entirely moot.

I certainly hope they do follow through on this, since the GURPS books, despite one or two clunkers, offer a wealth of setting information and ideas. JTAS articles alone offer a huge amount of gaming material, and thats the strength of Traveller - the intricate world building that still allows a GM to tailor a campaign.

Well, Far Future Enterprises do have the T20 books available on CD, so I'm hoping that the same will be true for the GURPS material.

And I (personally) think that the GURPS version of the Third Imperium was by far the most thoughtful and best presented of any that I've seen to date. I'm sorry to see it go.
