Re: two-bladed sword
Same here. It's way easier to let it happen and then let the facts speak for themselves than it is to say "no" and get into an argument. True, there will likely be an argument the other way, but it'll be shorter and easier to win ex post facto.
I still remember the guy who said that if Conan could go shirtless, then so could his fantasy warrior, and armor was for pansies. That lasted about as long as it took for a reptile man to bury a pick in his chest. Then there was the guy who wanted the bow that shot 10 darts at once instead of an arrow. That lasted until he realized that carrying 10 projectiles for each shot would encumber him, and that about 8 out of every 10 darts wouldn't hit anything. There was no arguing in either situation. I've never been cool, so I've never felt the need to honor the Rule of Cool. Whereas I spent 10 years studying physics, so the laws of nature matter a lot to me.

Re: two-bladed sword
Conan clearly had more points than him to spend on Destiny, Luck, Serendipity, and on successes on Parry rolls ;)

Re: two-bladed sword
Players supposes: GMs disposes...... of argumentative players. It doesn't matter what would happen in reality or not. The GM dictates what happens in their reality.

Re: two-bladed sword
Well, if he is not buying "extra option: Bulletproof nudity" as a perk and prodigious levels of Luck, defensive, possibly with an added Accessibility: Can not wear armor", then it's his own damn fault. Even in a cinematic-but-not-quite-silly campaign, I'd say you could get away with it if you had a style perk and wrote some lines about the unique lightfeeted fighting style of the barbarians to fudge it in-world.

Re: two-bladed sword
And on mail shirts. Apparently, Conan rarely went unarmored.

Re: two-bladed sword
After he bought off Dirt Poor, at least. From what I can recall, the only times he went shirtless were on the book covers, when somebody had captured and enslaved him, or when his tunic was damaged and he didn't have the coin to replace it.

Unless you mean Conan O'Brien. I don't recall ever seeing him shirtless, but I imagine I would have repressed those memories anyway.

To be fair to the stereotype he really did go into the Tower of the Elephant in just a loincloth. You need to add his 4 different careers as a pirate to the times he went without armor. The times when he had armor mostly amount to when he was in a "real" military unit of some kind. There were a lot of mail shirts and even some plate (as early as A Witch Shall Be Born) but as noted above there were a lot of exceptions to this "rule".
