Re: What GURPS Hot Spots would you like to see published?
The different capitals of China could be fascinating, sourcing legend, history and myth: the Shang period had a new civilising force in a bronze age culture, perhaps with unfamiliar gods, soothsayers and even human sacrifice.
The Qin capital would be a militaristic, legalistic state under a ruthless, unifying King (later the first emperor), and much emphasis on research of the secret of immortality (and of course a deathless army of terracotta soldiers). X'ian would be simply the largest city in the world, with Rome on the other end of the silk road, filled with imported religions, and new ideas. Later capitals could have rising empires, corrupt courts full of eunuchs, strange foreigners causing trouble, insular courtiers and fading glory. Any of these could add spice to a wuxia, military, spy, or trading campaign. |

Oh, and don't forget the last chapter about campaigns involving Florence. Even if you don't run anything in the historical Florence (which I don't expect many people to do), you can file off the serial numbers and drop it into some other campaign.

For a bit of New World flavor:
American Revolution era Boston, New York City, or Philadelphia. Tenochtitlan prior to its conquest by the Spanish. Modern-day Rio De Janeiro. Festival in Rio! Prohibition-era Chicago. Lincoln County, NM, during the 1880s (The era and stomping grounds of Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett).

Some others for consideration. Note that many of these we don't have hard historical records for, only archeological evidence, so the writers are well into the realm of "make stuff up" to fill in the gaps.
Knossos during Minoan Crete. Çatal Hüyük (a pre-Bronze Age settlement in central Anatolia/Turkey dating to about 7500-6500 BC that housed anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 residents). Sumerian Uruk. Harappa and/or Mojeno Daro. Plato's Atlantis. (Yes, I know it's almost a total fabrication, based off Egyptian records of sailors from Minoan Crete that were passed to Solon, but it's still a viable campaign Hot Spot.) Memphis, Egypt, during the Old Kingdom Dynasties.

Re: What GURPS Hot Spots would you like to see published?
For a totally fictional Hot Spot, let's go with a modern-day Underwater City. We can call it either Atlantis, Poseidonis, Neptunia, Lemuria, or any other name we'd like.
We could even do two items. One is a city of water-breathing humanoids or mer-people. The second could be an underwater pressure dome (call it "New Atlantis", maybe?), powered by hydroelectric plants utilizing the underwater currents and a desalination facility for drinking water.

Cairo and Casablanca, both to be set during the WWII era.
New Orleans around the turn of the 20th Century. Los Angeles during the heyday of the Hollywood studios era.

Me too. Anything bronze age and anything Indian especially would be outstanding.
