Default Share treasures for a help in a fight

Hi all,

Yesterday was a big arguing about sharing treasures after fight with help.

Arguing was about meaning of word "pick" in the next phrase from rules:

Quote:
If you offer him part of the monster’s treasure, you must agree
whether he picks first, or you pick first, or whatever.
I told it means you must agree who draw cards from a deck first. For example, you ask for a help and offer 1 from 3 treasures. You agreed you pick cards first. After fight, you get 2 cards from a deck first. Helper pick 1 card from a deck second. You draw cards Face-Up, as written in other part of rules.

Other guy told, our understanding of rules was wrong. Phrase from the rules means after fight you draw all monster treasures Face-Up, and after as you agreed you or helper pick his share from Faced-Up cards. For example, you ask for a help and offer 1 from 3 treasures. You agreed you pick cards first. After fight you draw all treasures Face-Up and put on a table. As agreed, you pick first 2 cards. Helper get the remaining one card.

So those two understanding of rules is different and have an influence on the Game balance.
Can you share your understanding of rules, or may be Game authors can clarify it.

Thanks.

The rules are clear. The owner of the combat always draws the Treasure and draws them all face-up so that all players can see them if he had help. There's then a choice of which Treasure cards go to which Munchkins.

You can choose any of the methods you described for distributing. The typical method is to choose for picks after you see them, the way your friend described, but you could certainly negotiate for the first and third card drawn as you wanted, or any other deal that can easily be honoured, provided the main munchkin draws them all face-up so everyone can see. For example, you could even say you want "all Headgear and any GUALs".

Edit: Also note that the cards must all come from the Treasure deck. Your discussion of drawing cards from "a deck" makes me wonder if you were thinking otherwise...

Just a short note. Clipper is correct in saying main player draws all treasures face up and then whoever gets first pick then chooses. however depending on which set of rules you have and which printing this is not clear. it was actually stated on these forums officially that if you don't agree who gets which choice then the main player gets it. That clearly goes against the rules that say you must agree on that when making the deal. While other sets of rules don't indicate that.

I think that was not really a rule, but more a guideline. A major reason I think this is due to the new update to the Tournament Rules, which now state that vague agreements are encouraged to be interpreted in favour of the helper. They only cover tournament play, but it seems a fair enough to use that rule in personal matches too.
