Item enhancers and Wand of Dowsing

First, let me say what a great game Munchkin is and how much we enjoy it. Our little group at work has a set time every week for "Lunchkin" or "Munch and Lunch" (depending on who you talk to). We've even made up a trophy for the winner to take back to their desk until the next game.

On to my rule question (and advance apologies if it has been asked before. I did search the forums to no avail):

Let's say an item has been enhanced, in our case the Matching Equipment Set was enhanced with Gold Plated and ...of Doom, and is discarded because of Treerazer entering combat. Subsequently someone plays Wand of Dowsing and takes the Matching Equipment Set. Do they also get the two enhancers with it or once all three cards hit the discard pile are they no longer linked and they only get the base item?

Once the Item has been discarded, any enhancers on it become disconnected.

They would only get the matching equipment set, none of the enhancers.
