Sounds like a net win for our newly-minted Hawkfolk PCs, even before you factor in the whole, "Oh cool, I can actually fly under my own power now," thing.

You have insight. The Hawkfolk are fairly good at charm offensives. Taking a healthy, or potentially so, elder and making them young, even if they don't remember being old, is a powerful seduction. Also the Buddhist and Neoplatonic elements in Hawkfolk religion. As they believe in past lives, any incongruous memories are simply seen as being from a past life.

By the way, the stevedores have decided they are 2nd cousins from Calabria (the toe of the Italian boot). They immigrated as small children.

The PCs have been taken into their new "House."
As the Hawkfolk are Matrilineal and inheritance goes through the female line, it's relatively easy to bring males into Hawkfolk societies. They are low status as yet, but they can rise in status in their Houses. All were taken into House Bé Chuille (Battle Mages and Warriors). The group decided they would all create PCs with the potential to be battle mages.

The PCs have gone on campaign. This week's game was called off because of weather,
A note on the Hawkfolk's Mantrilineality. The Hawkfolk saw long ago that, among their people, Magery passed Mother to Daughter, Mother to Son, or Father to Daughter, but never Father to Son (in science-speak it's a genetic trait on the X chromosome). As Margery is seen as a mark of divine favor this pattern reenforces Matrilineality.
