Default GURPS Sorcery: Protection and Warning Spells

He could dish it out
But could not take it in kind;
I claim victory.
— Ada Frost, Sorcerous Duellist
We listen. Really, we do. Do you remember when you said, "Darn it, I like that newfangled GURPS Thaumatology: Sorcery, but I don't want to come up with every spell myself!"? We heard that. Yes, we have microphones in your house. It's okay, they're for your own good. You can trust us.

But if you feel the need to defend yourself (or just to use Sense Observation to see if I'm telling the truth), GURPS Sorcery: Protection and Warning Spells is here to help. There are countless ways to hurt someone with magic, but only one college that focuses exclusively on keeping yourself safe, so an adventuring sorcerer would be wise to stock up on everything from Armor to Weather Dome. These spells are inspired by their counterparts in GURPS Magic and GURPS Magic: Death Spells, but have been rebuilt from the ground up as sorcerous abilities.

Do you want to keep your sorcerer alive? Do you want to "vote" for more Sorcery colleges in the future? Well now you can do both for the cost of a fast-food meal, by picking up GURPS Sorcery: Protection and Warning Spells. Forewarned is forearmed, and who couldn't use an extra pair of arms?

Yippee!!!!!!!!!!

I know I'm thrilled. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to cut a check to SJGames to "vote" for more Sorcery PDFs. :)

Thanks for the hard work on this one, PK. I suspect there's more drudgery to writing this kind of supplement than usual, making sure all the stats line up and all.

Very true. Super crunchy rules take more time to write, test, and edit. Most supplements are a nice balance of crunch and fluff, which keeps their costs reasonable. This one was 99% crunch, though, which means it was significantly more expensive to make than a typical $4.99 ebook. So it'll have to sell more copies before it pays for itself and starts to generate profit. I have my fingers crossed that this happens.

Got it! And GURPS Thaumatology: Sorcery. And, Supporting Cast: Age of Sale Pirate Crew, for good measure.

It's a good, GURPSy day.

I don't know why, but this made me laugh. It immediately put me in mind to Paul Winfield saying "Shaka, when the walls fell."

A must have for mi DF campaign. I have bought it immediatly.

I plan to use some of the builds, not as Sorcery spells, but for "cool powers" for the different classes. For example "Iron Arm" (p. 7) is going to become "Demonic Arm" for my "Demon linage" class by adding Cost Energy Reserve 1 (-5%), Supernatural features "Your arm looks weird!" (-10%) and Feature (+0%) your arm count as a demon for spells and magic objects. For example it gets hurt if you try to hold a blessed weapon, but you can hold an impure one!

It seems like "Iron arm" doesn't cost fatigue by the book, but for my Demonic Arm it will.

Me too. I'll wager that was the intent!
