Martial Enchantment
A character with UC III who possesses the proper training facility and books of ancient wisdom can train day after day until he binds sufficient mana into his own body that it becomes a magical weapon.
Use the same costs and procedures as Weapon/Armor Enchantment save that no apprentices can be used so it takes three times as long, rolling every third week. The rule of five applies fully. Their own body counts as a magic item and each casting (up to five) doubles in time. So if they make all of their unaided DX rolls then it only takes 6 + 12 + 24 + 48 + 96 = 186 weeks or three and a half years to enchant skin of iron that stops five hits per attack. At UC IV this extends to LMIC. At UC V this extends to GMIC. Note that all of these only apply when using UC, so no plate armor over enchanted skin.

Re: Martial Enchantment
I'm applying something similar to my Heroic Exploit rules... under the 'Mystic Monk' portfolio.
