It's an amazing image, and I would argue that it doesn't matter what the dead soldier's religion was - as long as it was offered with sincerity, the sentiment is non-denominational (and that's the end of all religious discussion for me!).

That is such a powerful image.

Not sure if Catholics swing that way or not (as I am not myself), but praying for / performing rites for a fallen opponent strikes me as a "[deity], please look after this soul should they have no god to call their own" gesture of respect.

Military chaplains, regardless of creed, perform last rites as part of their duties. While I'm not religious, I appreciated that, should I fall in combat, that there would be someone there.

Didnt see the responses to my comment but was thinking about the subject and asked people I know/work with who come from non christian dominant cultural contexts. Other Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Druze. All of em said they wouldn't want that done to them at end of life.

This is just an FYI, I'm definitely not complaining about the original image or the fact that it represents a reality of practice and perspective. There are also other perspectives is all.

Anyway, Ogrezine 2, I heard I made the cut! Whooohooo!
