Re: Public Announcement
I’ll second that!

Re: Public Announcement
I have to wonder (and I totally understand if it can't be answered) if the thriving GURPS blogging community had anything to do with this decision. When Pyramid #3 started, there was very little of that around... I can only really remember T-Bone's Diner then, and that didn't update frequently.
Now? Now we've got a abundant wealth of blogs generating great content and better discussions, many tailored to specific niches that Pyramid couldn't reliably hit. I wouldn't want to give up that blogging community for anything, but I can't help but think it has to have eaten away at Pyramid's bottom line — how many people thought, “Why pay for a subscription when you can get even more free content, and buy the occasional single issues when they strike your fancy?” |

Re: Public Announcement
I think it helped more than hurt. It brought extra attention to GURPS and sometimes specific items (such as reviews) but I dont see most of the blogging content making it into a Pyramid theme.

...that is kinda exactly my point. A lot of that blogging content doesn't fit into Pyramid themes — so if that content is exactly what the person is looking for, why would they pay for Pyramid? |

Re: Public Announcement
I think it's a safe bet that it's unrelated. A lot of what goes on there is people talking about their own campaigns, which isn't terribly portable, or talking about GURPS-related news in general, which Pyramid doesn't really touch at all.

Re: Public Announcement
I just want to be clear on one point. I think it's already been answered, but I wanted to be 100% sure. The way I read the postings so far is that all previous PDF editions of Pyramid magazine (The ones published before December 2018) will remain available for purchase on Warehouse 23 even after December of 2018. Is that correct?

You'd have to look at total $ spent on GURPS and Pyramid pre the blogging and then total $ spent on GURPS and Pyramid post the blogging. Then of course take account of other factors that might have caused the change. Im sure there are other considerations too. |

Re: Public Announcement
I think my subscription to ADQ began in 1985. That rolled over to Pyramid and I’ve kept a continuous subscription since then. Thank you for many years of entertainment and fun reading. I’ll miss it but look forward to seeing what the future brings.

Re: Public Announcement
I am dismayed to hear this, but cautiously optimistic that it might be a net gain for GURPS. I would enthusiastically support a model of Pyramid which might look something like the Dungeon Fantasy Collected pdf that came out at the end of 2016. 160-odd pages with a score of articles on one line: if something like that came out once or twice a year (whether with updated old articles, new ones, or a mix), I would fight to give my money to SJG for it.
