Re: Kickstarter - Can we get an Autuduel up in here?!!?
I've said while I've never really been a Munchkin fan, I'd snatch up a Munchkin Autodeul game in a minute.

Re: Kickstarter - Can we get an Autuduel up in here?!!?
First time poster to the Car Wars forum:
Hey, Steve. It will take me a year to recover financially from Designer Edition Ogre, but I'd go almost as crazy (i.e. spend almost as much $$$) for a similar treatment of Car Wars!! Don't tell my wife (yet), but I'm already in to the tune of $440! I hope you do a survey somewhere down the road to gauge interest prior to doing a Kickstarter project. If so, crosspost to the Ogre forum so that those of us that don't currently follow CW will see it. Favorite CW memory: When you were at Denvention II back in 1981, I had the pleasure to take part in a game of CW that you refereed where we got to use the new master dies for the new CW miniatures as actual playing pieces! That still is a fond memory.

I hope the success of Ogre give SJgames the same idea for a Car Wars big box game! I'd be there in a heart beat! It could have the same style miniatures that the new Ogre game has, plus blanks for customs!

There's nothing worse than having a bunch of projects you really want to work on sneak up on you when you're in the middle of a bunch of projects you really have to work on, is there? I'm not known for being patient (my wife keeps telling me to stop being shpilkes :)), but the current Ogre situation should keep me settled for a while. But however you do it, I'd love to see some sort revival of Car Wars when you can pull together the time to do it. Maybe if we all survive the Mayan Apocalypse?

Personally, I don't have a problem with cardboard counters, but I'd love to see simple add-on weapon packs (and similar accessories) that can be glued/blue-tacked to (1/64 scale) Matchbox/similar cars to represent the vehicle design being used for a combat. Unless you're after the Mad Max/Death Race look for vehicles, most weapons would be little more than barrels/rocket tips projecting out of the car body, so shouldn't anything too complex to manufacture. |

Re: Kickstarter - Can we get an Autuduel up in here?!!?
If, and repeat if, SJG games does decide to take a look at re-releasing an updated version of CW, I'd like to see them take the Kickstarter route to do it. I'd also like to see a slimmed down and simplified version of the rules (something similar to 5e), with a completed set of vehicle construction rules to go along with it. No Hovercraft, no blimps, no boats, (I'm cool with Semi-trucks, buses, etc. being released at a later date though). Just stick with the basic vehicle types, and worry about the other stuff later. And I'd also like a decent selection of weapons and equipment, as I kind of got used to being able to use things like Vulcans, flaming oil, and discargers.
As far as minis or card board. I'm cool with either. Even if they didn't produce their own minis, there are plenty of compatible minis out there that would fit the bill.

I'd still like to see a legitimate car wars / GURPS Autoduel RPG. A sequel / remake of Autoduel from the 80s .

IIRC, you can get GURPS Autoduel off e23. There were 2 editions; don't know which one you can get (I would presume 2nd).
