Recharging Energy Reserve and Fatigue
Simple case: If you've spent FP, you regain them at a rate of 1 per 10 minutes.
Complicated case: You've spent FP to cast spells, missed meals and "regular" exertion, and you've used ER to cast more spells. When do you regain the various points? Example: - You have lost 5 FP because of missed meals. - You have just finished casting spells that you spent 5 FP and 5 ER on. - You have been running around, which has cost you an additional 5 FP. - Now, as the clock strikes midnight, you sit down to rest and eat. Question 0: Is it against RAW to assume that you regain 1 FP lost to missed meals each half hour as long as you keep eating? If not, you can assume it when answering Q1-4. (If it is, please see the rules gurus' answer to Q0 before answering Q1-4.) Question 1: At what times do you regain what? (In the simple case, you would regain 1 FP at 00:10, at 00:20, at 00:30 and so on until all spent FPs are regained.) Question 2: If you are Fit, how does that change the times from question 1? Question 3: If you know the spell Recover Energy at skill level 15, how does that change things? Question 4: If you are both Fit and able to cast Recover Energy at skill level 15, what then?

Re: Recharging Energy Reserve and Fatigue
Starvation rules are on B426. Regaining fatigue from missed meals takes a full day of rest. You only regain 1FP per day of full rest.
Scenario 1: 0:10 1FP 1ER 0:20 2FP 2ER 0:30 3FP 3ER 0:40 4FP 4ER 0:50 5FP 5ER 1:00 6FP 1:10 7FP 1:20 8FP 1:30 9FP 1:40 10FP (now as full as we can be barring starvation.) Scenario 2 (fit): 0:05 1FP 0:10 2FP 1ER 0:15 3FP 0:20 4FP 2ER 0:25 5FP 0:30 6FP 3ER 0:35 7FP 0:40 8FP 4ER 0:45 9FP 0:50 10FP 5ER (now as full as we can be barring starvation.) The way I see it, the fatigue spent on magic is healed "on the 10's" and the fatigue spent on physical exertion is healed "on the 5's." If this were unbalanced toward magic, it would take longer to heal. I'm not totally sure on this. Scenario 3 (recover energy): 0:05 1FP 1ER 0:10 2FP 2ER 0:15 3FP 3ER 0:20 4FP 4ER 0:25 5FP 5ER 0:30 6FP 0:35 7FP 0:40 8FP 0:45 9FP 0:50 10FP (now as full as we can be barring starvation.) This is basically the opposite of #2. We're healing fatigue spent on magic "on the 5's" and fatigue spent on exercise "on the 10's." If this were not balanced as it is, there would be differences in the two scenarios. If only 3 fatigue were spent on spells but 5 on exercise, full fatigue would still take 50 minutes to come back. I'm not totally sure on this either. Scenario 4 (fit and RE): 0:05 1FP 1ER 0:10 2FP 2ER 0:15 3FP 3ER 0:20 4FP 4ER 0:25 5FP 5ER 0:30 6FP 0:35 7FP 0:40 8FP 0:45 9FP 0:50 10FP (now as full as we can be barring starvation.) That's my take. Hopefully, this template can be useful for discussion. |

Re: Recharging Energy Reserve and Fatigue
The ER is independent of everything else, except it does benefit from the Recover energy spell.
GURPS Powers, p. 119 says An ER recharges by one point every 10 minutes, independent of rest. You can recover FP at the same time if you rest. Factors that alter FP recovery generally have no effect on ER recharge rate.
