The only real deal breaker for me would be if TFT breaks from its rules-light roots.

KISS (though it's worth noting that simple is not the same as simplistic).

Exactly. I find that the players who are playing well get all sorts of benefits, and I even have to check myself as referee/GM that I'm not rewarding them too much without thinking about it. That is, not only are there all sorts of logical rewards for good play on top of that it's fun and enjoyable, but I tend to give more attention, indulgence, and benefit of the doubt to them, as well as NPC approval of them, etc., without even thinking about it (so I make an effort to keep an eye on myself so I don't favor them more than is appropriate). Directly giving them EP for it seems needless and too meta, and if it were the main/only way PCs improve, that just seems backwards/wrong to me.

I'm a bit of an extremist on this issue. Your reward for bringing pizza is 'thanks for the pizza!', not experience points or heroic re-rolls. And I've never seen a game with 'meta' experience rules that I liked.

Putting it a slightly different way, I've always felt that bringing the pizza/soda/beer was it's own reward -- people thank you, people are happy with you, etc. No XP required.

Man, if I had known I could trade XPs for pizza back in 1981, my 17 year old self would have been the most Monty Haul GM in the Western Hemisphere.

Anyone who brings pizza and expects more than that needs to be beaten with his own dice bag...

Index would be good and if there is a pdf being planned a bookmarked Table of Contents and cross references.
