Lifting strength and weapons
Hello there, sorry, tried to do a search but couldn't find an answer.
Each weapon has a minimum strength (and rules about multiples of strengths if you want to use two handed weapnos one handed and without them becoming unready) I was wondering whether lifting strength would be sufficient for determining whether someone could wield a weapon. I.e., someone big and burly, had a lifting strength of 22 but a regular (and striking strength) of 14. Or would you need the striking strength as well to represent the ability to swing it around? And for that matter, what would be a good limit on lifting strength? HP is 30%, lifting strength seems to be worded for supers but seems quite fitting for the great majority of weight lifters and other big people who can lift more than boxers but couldn't beat them in a fist fight. |

Re: Lifting strength and weapons
Lifting ST seems to be priced under the assumption it's useless for combat. I'd price it at 5/level and answer that question 'yes', but at 3/level I'd answer 'no'.

That sounds good. I was looking for a way for pc's to wield weapons one handed without doing 4d of damage. Any other thoughts in this?

Re: Lifting strength and weapons
I haven't missed out on a perk or advantage modification in martial arts that deals with this have I? (it has rules for everything else, would be surprised if it didn't have it for this, damned if I can find it though)

Re: Lifting strength and weapons
The necessary Perk is in Power Ups 2 rather than MA.

Re: Lifting strength and weapons
I'd just charge 1 point/level for Minimum Strength; if someone forced an explanation out of me, I'd say I could categorize it as "Striking ST(No Damage Bonus, -80%)".

Re: Lifting strength and weapons
Despite the official Kromm ruling that it should be Striking ST I have always felt Lifting ST is a much better fit for min ST and I have always used it as such and never had any problems with it, neither in realistic games or DF games.
