Rename the game?
Has any thought been given to renaming the game for the 6th edition? Perhaps to Autoduel? Car Wars is, after all, a 37 year old pun and has been used for a tv show, book titles, newspaper articles, etc.

Re: Rename the game?
Car Wars is what people remember. It's okay if it's been used for things outside of tabletop gaming.

Re: Rename the game?
Car Wars remains short, snappy, and entirely descriptive of the came (fighting with cars!). It's got a lot of history and recognition among gamers, and judging by Lucasfilm/Disney's ongoing cultural dominance, plays on "star wars" are still very much relevant. The name is arguably the best and most portable thing about the game, really.

Yeah, why change the name? That's not a good idea.

Re: Rename the game?
Whilst I don't agree that changing the name is a good idea, Car Wars isn't actually very descriptive.
It's not all about cars, there are bikes and trucks too (plus other vehicles with a lesser focus). It isn't really a war either. At worse it's a minor skirmish. |
