"Forcefield-like" shield
Is it possible to create a medium shield, either using enhancement magic or some kind of advantage or power, with force field? Ideally, i wanted a shield that i had to roll my block for each different direction, but i would be able to stop attacks from every side and area attacks as well.
If it would be impossible to create a shield that blocks attacks from all sides, a medium shield that is able to block area attacks would be enough. |

DR with Force Field, Partial (Left Arm Only) and Directional: Forward would simulate a shield you have to roll to defend with.

Re: "Forcefield-like" shield
Try the following:
DR (Linked; Directional: Forward; Requires Active Defense: Block; Force Field) + Defense Bonus* +2 (Linked) * "Defense Bonus" is a meta-trait from Supers intended for replicating the DB granted by shields, built with equal levels of Enhanced Dodge + Enhanced Parry (All Parries) + Enhanced Block.

Re: "Forcefield-like" shield
Kromm came up with one a long time ago in web years that was built with a striker with the limitation of only being able to parry.
Since the appearance of a striker is just a special effect you make it look like a floating shield. Since its parry and block would be the same numbe, call it blocking. Poof. One shield that you can block one attack with. Strikers don't take damage, so you don't need DR. Add Defense Bonus to taste and stir.

Re: "Forcefield-like" shield
Season the pot with a certain amount a flexible on the striker/arm, and maybe some kind of Power Dodge/Parry and it should be delicious.
Area attacks are normally exceptionally good at piercing DR and Defences and they pay heavily for the privaledge so if you make something that counters them and it looks too cheap, it is probably missing something.

Re: "Forcefield-like" shield
It seems you just need DR with Force Field and Active Defense and no Directional. Add Gadget if you want to use it as actual shield. Using Shield skill instead of DX might be +0% enhancement. So you just roll your Shield Block to defend against attack you're aware from any direction, and even area attack as well.
There's no actual invulnerabilityin GURPS, though. If you want the attack to deal you no harm at all, buy insubstantiality or so on. Or buy a lot of DR.

Ah, I've been looking at Strikers, not using a modifier on Stretching to make a Striker. That's just a bit different from saying Strikers never take damage at all, though.
