Hirelings + Time of day items

Yo, you guys mind clearing something up? If the "Staff of the slain" grants an extra +3 to Pathfinders during the hours of 4pm - 7pm, if this card is Cheat!ed, or used with a Hireling which "let's you use an item you otherwise would not be able to", then you could get the extra +3?

Cheats and Hirelings ignore Sex/Race/Class/Slot/Big and Small requirement, so I'd assume it'd bypass time of day, right? Letting you use an item you otherwise could not?

Lastly, if Staff Of The Slain can be used this way, it was mentioned at the table that Vorpal Sword has a Subtext of +10 to monsters with "J" in its name, if this item is cheated then you can ignore this subtext too and +10 against every monster? Just because the Staff of the slain's subtext is also being ignored?
