So who actually "owns" IN? I assume it's still Croc, though he doesn't produce the game anymore AFAIK. How much longer does SJGames have licensing rights?

Archangel Beth is probably the best person to answer this, but my understanding is that SJG has the rights to the American version more or less in perpetuity. (Or as long as the copyright lasts, anyway.) The situation might have been different if it had been a straight-up translation, but my understanding is that there are significant differences between the French MV/INS and the American IN, to the point where they're more or less two different games that share some names and imagery.

(I asked something like this about a year or two ago, since I was concerned that the slow pace of new supplements was due to a license expiring. I was very relieved by the answer I got then.)

Unless I've hopped timelines (it's been known to happen!), Rocket Man is correct -- the license for the adaptive work, In Nomine, isn't expiring anytime soon. I believe that we do not have a license for a direct translation of anything else that Croc made for INS/MV, so we couldn't pull over the various adventures and such for it -- but they don't really fit "IN/SJG" very well, most times, anyway.

Any particular reason, or just curious? O:>

Blue-sky idea, and I probably can't afford to do it anyway (but it never hurts to ask...) Does SJGames have the right to award sublicenses for IN products?

Yes, I know there are extremely few licensed works for SJGames products, but successfully sublicensing the line could speed up release of the Superiors books - if quality-control can be kept in place. (That's the part I'm most worried about, after the cost of the sublicense itself.)

I don't know if there's any sub-licensing allowed. I am strongly suspicious that there is not. Or else I might be inclined to be asking some questions about that m'self. *grin*

Mostly idle curiosity unless I win the lottery. I merely thought it might be fun, since Asmodee isn't publishing the original anymore, to see a supplement using some of its stuff.

Also, I'm interested in seeing Emily Dresner's Fate adaptation expanded.
