Default Combining question

Hello all, just joined the forum recently. I was thinking about making a Munchkin club at my high school. i have Munchkin Fu and am planning on getting Star Munchkin so i have bigger selection for the club. My question is since the box says up to 6 people from one set, would the Star and Fu sets together let 12 people play without any problems? Thought i should ask now before the club gets started and incase i should rethink how i should do this. Thanks

The problem for larger games isn't the number of cards, it's the time it takes for each round of play. With 12 players (eeep!) a player could have as much as half an hour between turns. That's not a lot of fun.

haha ouch, never thought about that. So would it be better to separate the large group into smaller groups and have each group use a separate set?

Short answer, yes.

Usually, I don't like to have more than 5 or 6 people in one game at a time. 7 or 8 is do-able, 9 or more just makes for a long slow annoying game. So, if you do get a large number of people, I would suggest multiple games going at once.

Another thing you could do is follow this link and contact the Regional Director for your local area. Ask if there are any MIB near you who could come and pay a visit to your clubs function. That way if you or the group had any questions about Munchkin you could get them answered directly, also hopefully the MIB would have most if not all of the different Munchkin sets and your group could try out them all and find out which ones you like best, and the MIB should have Promos they could pass out to the members of your club.

Direct link to what exactly a MIB is and what they do.

I've started a Munchkin group myself, and usually try to split the group to have 4 - 6 players each, favoring the 4 player groups. One group will play Munchkin, the next Munchkin Bites, the other Munchkin Fu and so on.

Every 2 months we hold a grand tournament. 1 game, with the 4 highest ranking players for the past 2 months... with ALL sets and ALL expansions in a single deck.

Makes for a lot of fun and some interesting play scenarios :D
