More than one boon of a similiar type

I was demoing a game of Munchkin Fu with a bunch of players that had brought all of there boons to the table. one of the players had both the "Wicked Munchkin Die" and his I-Phone with the "Munchkin Level Counter" installed. after determining that he would have to get a cheat card to play both at the same time, and the game began.

Was i correct that with 2 level counters one would have to be "cheated" in? is this possible with bookmarks and promo cards as well? Sorta like the t-shirt rule.

As a general rule, I would not allow the use of Cheat! to bring in extra promo gear (with the exception of wearing two T-shirts, since that's explicitly allowed by the shirt rules).
