Default Duck of Earl

While playing with a couple of people one person thought that because the card states that you could roll multiple die because the card states that you could roll any die on the table. So essentially I would like to clarify that the card means that you could use something other than a d-6.

"Die" is singular. If we'd meant any and all dice, we would have said "dice."

Thank you. That's what most of our group thought, but we decided to ask just to pacify the other person.

Since there are only 2 (3 when playing epic) dice involved in the game: D6, D10 (D20 when playing epic), it would have to mean D6. Since each player has only 1D6 available then Duck of Earl refers to the D6. The D10, or D20 is used for marking your level gain- nothing else.

That's usually the case, but Duck of Earl is very clear that it means ANY die at all, so any die you happen to have would be a legal choice.

I love those any die on the table rolls, that's why I always keep a d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, d30, d50 and d100 on the table. Just in case some die will be better for a roll.

Now for the ultimate quibble -- if you're not playing on a table and a card like that comes up, do you get to roll anything? ;)

The Duck of Earl says any die you have in your pocket or on the table, so yes as long as the die is with you, you can roll it.

I actually have some d6's with all sides as 1's specifically for the Duck of Earl card.

No. Now go away.

I kid, I kid. For purposes of this or any similar rules, your playing surface, whatever it may be, is defined to be a table.

Mental Note: Get a die with all sides as 1's
