A question arose today during my group.
A situation arose wherein one of my opponents had to lose an item that gave him the biggest bonus. The only card he had in front of him was The Gazebo, which he had tamed and made his steed. He laughed and said, "Well, I have no items, so..." I quickly pointed out "Steeds are items and therefore that monster you have in front of you is an item." And he said, "Well, an item has a gold piece value, doesn't it? I don't see a gold piece value on this card. Therefore, it is an item." A monster steed follows mostly the same steed rules, if I recall correctly. Am I correct in asserting that although one cannot steal or sell a monster steed, but it can be killed/lost to traps/bad stuff? |

A monster steed is not an Item, because Items have a listed Gold Piece value.

It is still a Steed, and affected by things that affect Steeds, specifically. However, the Ranger's ability breaks the rule that says that Steeds are Items, making the Gazebo a Steed, though not an Item.
