Icon latency?

Here's an odd problem I've been having, perhaps for a day or so. I've noticed certain icons aren't displaying right away or at all. What I see is their text output. For instance:

The go to first post icon (the little circle with the upside down triangle) will simply display as text beside a thread: Go to first unread post. To get it to appear I have to hover my mouse over it and the icon pops up in place of the text. This doesn't apply to the same icon on different threads. One will be text, then other will have displayed correctly as the circle/upside down triangle.

I've seen this behavior with the little short, stubby pencil icon on some threads as well, but never the push pin icons, those always seem to display.

A second occurrence I've seen is in the following thread: http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?t=14153

From the main page where the various threads are displayed, instead of a all seeing eye red pyramid or a yellow one like the others lining every other thread, it shows the text beneath it such as

"You have 2 posts in this thread, last etc. etc."

This one doesn't change to the icon when I hover over it, and I have to hold ctrl and move my mouse wheel to increase or decrease the size of the screen text, that clears it up. But it comes right back if I refresh the page or go into the thread then return to the main thread page.

It's recent for me. Any ideas?

My browser is the most current version of Firefox, and I'm using Windows XP Home for an OS.

Are you only seeing that behavior on this website?

If it's happening in other places as well, it might be some kind of intermittent connectivity problem.

I am experiencing it over on the HERO games forums. I thought it might be because they looked similar? I thought this board and that one used the same forum software?
