When can you switch between used and carried items?
The rules state that you can't switch items during a combat. But can you do it during another player's turn? It's obvious that you can't play items that you have in your hand, but can you activate/deactivate "carried" items that you have turned sideways?
Being more precise, we have such a situation: one player is fighting a monster and asking for help. Another player says "Ok, I'll help you, but wait a second", then switches some items and then joins the combat. Is it legitimate? Also, could this player exchange items with other players? |

Re: When can you switch between used and carried items?
You may not do ANYTHING to affect your cards in play when it is not your turn, with the following exceptions:
(a) You may play one-shot Items as long as the conditions for the Item are met ("play during combat," for instance). (b) You may put a card that you have just received into play, as long as it is legal for you to do so. (c) You must respond to Curses or Traps that affect your Items. (d) You may discard Classes, Races, Loyalties, or Accents at any time. (e) You may trade Items with another player as long as neither of you is in combat.

No, it was a mistake -- the dangers of posting before I've had my morning caffeine. I'll edit my post appropriately.

Re: When can you switch between used and carried items?
I'm sorry but it looks like you have edited your post wrongly: now it states that you can't trade at all while it's not your turn.
But I have another question: if you may trade while it's not your turn, you may switch items by just giving them to another player so he gives them back and you may legally put them in play as "just-received"? Am I right? |

Assuming the other player is willing, that would be a legal play. Doing it over and over would be likely to make you a target, however.
