Answering my own question; I haven't tried this yet, but I've already thought of one problem.

Without the corresponding base set, any Items with Class restrictions will only be useable with a Cheat card, or to buy levels. The Munchkin Cthulhu expansions would also have the problem that no one could ever become a Cultist as a result of Bad Stuff or Monster abilities.

If one considers that a bug rather than a feature, one could pull just the Class cards from the base set to add to the expansion.

I have had no troubles with any of the core munchkin expansions other than Fairy Dust. With FD, games that would normally include comments such as "I'll help you out so that you don't suffer Bad Stuff but I want all of your Treasures" turn into games that feature alot of "I'll help you out for free, hell I'll give you this treasure if you let me help you for a FD card". Its fairly annoying. So, I made a house rule that instead of assisting another player in combat to attain a FD card, you need to decurse another player that you DIDN'T curse yourself to get one. This takes them much further out of the picture, the way they should be in my opinion.

Your players are weird. FD cards are good, but they aren't THAT good.

I agree that they are weird... I think it comes from the fact that most of our group are very new to the game and they see "shiny" cards and are enthralled by the color difference from the light brown on brown to hot pink and get all befuzzled in their tiny minds... who knows.

Sometimes out bidding your foe to help the other guy has dropped down to "I'll help you just for the FD card", but it is usually doesn't start there.

Over new years I played a game with all the decks (excluding Fairy Dust and Christmas, they weren't out when I drunkeny bought all the decks I was missing). Due to the house rule of "winner clears up" (we tend to play with 2-3 decks + expansions anyway), and us all being overly competitive, it descended into everyone trying to get to, and then stay at, level 19.
One thing that helped a lot was separating the discards as we played, with the player on the left choosing which pile is used for any cards stating the "top discard"
Generally, we keep all the expansions in the deck (with the exception of More Good Cards, which is only thrown in in blender games). Dungeons are handled by adding a new one every time the lowest player gets 5 levels (i.e. 1 to begin, 2 when everyone is 5+, 3 when everyone is 10+ etc.), and allowing the first player to get 5/10 etc levels to replace one with a dungeon drawn at random (after the dungeon to be replaced had been shuffled back in). This was used first in a 3 deck game, and worked well enough that we've used it since.

As for what decks we use, normally each player chooses one (excluding new players), with the option to abstain. This tends to result in Cthulhu, and one or two of MI, TGTB+TM, and Booty (the dungeon cards, with the house rule above, can be thrown in as a choice as well). If using 3 or more decks, blender will normally be added, with cards referring to "race" being usable on some other card (e.g. accent) if there are no races in play

Me and my two buddies play 1 - 7 All, and all the time!

We have a poker card shuffler, and two poker card pits that we use, so it speeds it all up. Kill-O-Meters all around, and card holders for when our hands get tired.

Gangster, I know, but hey, we do 12-14 hour seshes on our off days!

Can I get the specs on that card shuffler? Does it destroy any cards at all or what?

Really, you could play with as much as you want. It doesn't really matter, but you shouldn't go over let's say 5... You can also buy the Munchkin Blender and that is just completely random... But, with that said, what are you planing to do?
