Fleeing from Mr. Bones and failing. Lose 2 or 3 levels?

His card says

So, you are losing 1 level for fleeing, then, if you fail and the Bad Stuff gets you, you lose another two? Or, is the 1 level you lose for fleeing only if you succeed and you only lose two if he catches you?

I'm fairly sure you lose one level regardless, and if you fail to Run Away, you lose an additional two, for a total of three.

The way I was seeing it

If you are losing and fail to run away, then it would be 3 levels lost, 1 for losing the battle and "you must flee", then the other 2 for failing the run away and taking the bad stuff.

Regardless, I've already weighed in and I'm telling you that it's 1 Level if you succeed in Running Away, 2 Levels if you fail to Run Away.

Erik's way is right (obviously) but this chart will be the easiest way to remember it. I would just make the following changes to it to further clarify:

Winning: Lose 0 levels
Losing, but successfully ran away: Lose 1 level, min. Level 1
Losing, but failing to run away: Lose 2 levels, min. Level 1

"you lose 1 level even if you escape"
It's not saying to add on to the bad stuff .. it's saying If you escape, lose 1 level .. if you don't escape, you take the Bad Stuff - His bony touch costs you two levels
