One of the reasons for the rarity of the Ogre Book is that at least some of the Y2K reprint copies have a distressing tendency to lose their covers; something to do with the glue used (was what I gathered).

I have a copy, but the cover has come off.

I bought my copy on ebay right after ODE got me interested again and the cover was loose, but not off, on my copy. I worked in a book bindery for 27 years and was able to do a half-assed glue job to reattach it.
And, by the way, the book binding industry stopped using the better adhesive in un-sewn books in the late '80s if memory serves.

It's also a question of "which Ogre Book" are you talking about? The first edition is a lot more rare, which tends to inflate its cost. It's also not necessary to have it, since the 2nd Ed from Y2K covers everything plus more (unless you have to collect everything, of course). ;-)

There's actually a few articles in the 1st edition that didn't make the cut for the 2nd one. I remember a Starship Troopers crossover and a Rivets crossover.

Bonus points to anyone who knows what GLUT stands for.

Somehow I doubt you're talking about the OpenGL Utilities Toolkit.

Nope. But that was a nice try. GLUT was what the Tiny Bopper called the MK V Ogre it spotted approaching it's production complex. Great Large Unidentified Trivia.

Rivets crossover is here: https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/2...vets-crossover

Note that you need to add the file extension .gif.
