Dying Curse
What limitation would I give to an Affliction that inflicts a curse only upon the death of the character?

Re: Dying Curse
I just build it as the affliction desired (no special limitation at this point) and then divide the total cost by 5, since it's a one use effect. Unless Resurrection is common in your setting...then I would do something different.

Re: Dying Curse
An impulse buy type one off advantage.

Re: Dying Curse
The character can only do it once ever? I'd call that a Perk.

Re: Dying Curse
If people know you can do it there are social advantages, though they're of limited value ("if you're going to kill that guy, make sure you do it from behind" is actually a fairly dubious benefit)

Now having a standing Curse readying to deploy on your death regardless of how, whom, or where makes for an interesting deterrent. |

Re: Dying Curse
I think you're mostly looking at this being part of an existing Social Regard: Feared, or a Reputation: Only with people contemplating assassinating me (frequency of recognition set wherever) and possibly a limitation that this isn't good for requests for aid or anything - only "potential combat" (including the more abstract plotting to kill you).

Re: Dying Curse
More or less. It's Affliction (Cursed, Irresistible Attack, 4-yard radius) that triggers only upon death. Basically, kill the beastie, your life sucks.

Re: Dying Curse
PK has a writeup for abilities triggered on death, which you'll probably find useful for this. It sounds like it would fall into the "one use advantage" category.
