Default Re: Marine ceremonies and uniforms

A tux doesn't "go out of style" like a formal dress. You buy a tux once and wear it for several years before it wears out. There are minor changes at the edges of "stylish" (the maximum or minimum length of the tail, the maximums or minimums for lapel size or the aggressiveness of the cut), but there is a wide middle ground that is always in style. By staying in that middle ground, you can get a tux that is as stylish now as it was 100 years ago and as it most likely will be 100 years from now. Then, to get relevant, you accessorize (cummerbunds, pocket squares, cuff links, buttons, etc). You may spend 20 or 30% of the cost of the base tux to accessorize it for a given year. But that's a far cry from just tossing it out.
