1v1 Rules for Munchkin???

My brother and I are both big time fans of Munchkin, but we need three to play by the standard rules. Do rules exist for 1v1 play other than just using the original rules meant for 3-6 players?

There are plenty of two-player rules suggestions in the House Rules thread. I'd prefer not to start a separate two-player discussion elsewhere, since the rules as written are meant for a minimum of three players.
