Re: Vote up a Space Opera
Results for weapons
Lazers 10+++++ 9++ Plasma 10+++ 9++++ Sonic 10+ 9+++++ I would vote, but my votes won't change anything. Lazers are TL10 (not 10^). Plasma weapons are TL9, which makes them short range. Sonic weapons are TL 9 (I was surprised by the strength of this choice). by the way, only three people have voted on the custom energy weapon. I'm not sure why. Damage: LMF Armor Divisor: MHH Side Effect: MLL ROF:M Range M

Re: Vote up a Space Opera
Yeah, 0pt lets us plug those races into any space campaign where they are thematically appropriate. Asteroidians are something that will only fit into Lensmen levels.

I haven't voted on custom weapons because I don't want any. I didn';t remember them getting much support in the general vote either.

If you specify that TT gives you resistance towards higher temperatures, then it should be fine.

Re: Vote up a Space Opera
My reason is that I honestly don't know one energy weapon from another (it's been a long time since I was in a sci-fi game, alas, and then I was playing a doctor). I'd have to reread the entire section in Ultratech and then reread the votes to see what's already there.

Re: Vote up a Space Opera
Speaking of aliens, more have been developed or are being developed.
Unless Eric wants us to stop, I assume that we may continue to add to the aliens thread. From me: Witch-hunter Hounds Beseth Efeta 'Digger Dragons/Lyndworms' (template still being revised, cultural notes to be expanded, likely get a proper racial name soon) 'Dusters' (ditto) |

Re: Vote up a Space Opera
Keep on developing Aliens, though At this point refining the top five is also important.
we don't have much for which humans rule, but its been a while, and If there isn't a big list of things a lot of people don't vote on it: Which Human's Rule? Terrans 2 Oom 2 1 Splinter 1 2 Other I will use my votes to make Splinter win. You have until Tuesday evening to finish submitting splinter races, at which point we vote on which one is in charge. We are approaching the finishing stages of the project, And the skeleton is mostly in place. More "Role of Aliens" votes will come soon.

Re: Vote up a Space Opera
Role of Aliens (Non-humanoid)
Once again, the roles are: Strong (nation building) Common (lots of them) Widespread (minority everywhere) Distant (not from around here) Rare (only a few planets) Not in setting please think carefully about these ones. Don't feel obligated to vote for the role that they are most obviously suited for. non-humanoids Starfish Aliens (Literal) Asteroidian Space faring creatures with 10 arms who roam systems unaided. Vaqaxij Fast but clumsy silicon based life with great senses. Tenders Bizarre-looking creatures who farm and require their tree like female's sap. Dralasites blob creatures Engineer Ants colonial life form thats good with nano-techstats Rikri Small herbivores with 6 legs that are strong beyond their size. Dzit Crystalline creatures who use normally technological processes as part of their metabolism Qtosk semi-upright knuckle walkers with 4 genders and very aggressive females. Xahi something like a deer with a prehensile nose, but smarter. Rayth black goo that eats rock and can survive in space Nkharu bald, featherless, semi-flying vulture-like aliens. yes, we will do two more of these: one for humans: (terrans are already determined to be "strong") and one for everthing that hasn't been listed yet.
