Default Dying Curse

What limitation would I give to an Affliction that inflicts a curse only upon the death of the character?

I just build it as the affliction desired (no special limitation at this point) and then divide the total cost by 5, since it's a one use effect. Unless Resurrection is common in your setting...then I would do something different.

An impulse buy type one off advantage.

The character can only do it once ever? I'd call that a Perk.

If people know you can do it there are social advantages, though they're of limited value ("if you're going to kill that guy, make sure you do it from behind" is actually a fairly dubious benefit)

It basically just mean you have to kill them either so quickly they haven't the time to drop a curse or from such a remove they have no knowledge of whom to curse.

Now having a standing Curse readying to deploy on your death regardless of how, whom, or where makes for an interesting deterrent.

I think you're mostly looking at this being part of an existing Social Regard: Feared, or a Reputation: Only with people contemplating assassinating me (frequency of recognition set wherever) and possibly a limitation that this isn't good for requests for aid or anything - only "potential combat" (including the more abstract plotting to kill you).
