Default Re: [GAME] 2018 Superpowered Alphabetical Brainstorm, WW2 Edition.

L is for Liberation Force

As newsreel footage of the supers surfacing in Europe and Asia started to get played in America the US department of war began to get worried about a loss of morale as a result. To fix this problem they devoted resources to creating a photogenic group of American super-heroes. Resources were funneled to Russia in exchange for the body of an Atomkrieger they had acquired, agents searched the U.S. for unusual individuals, the Long Island project was started to create powered individuals and mythical creatures were researched.

Overall strengths

- Well funded
Overall weaknesses
- The publicity aspect is paramount to their handlers

The initial line up includes.
Mystical
The steel clad enchanter, Stringfellow Hobbs is the enchanter and wearer of the "Mystical" armour. This suit looks like an art deco suit of full plate armour covered in incredibly detailed runes. The suit boosts the wearers strength, speed and resilience as well as having a few tricks built in. Alchemical fire can be launched from a ring on the wearer's right gauntlet and blasts of cold from a wand built into the left bracer. A shield of stone can be summoned with a gesture and the very winds themselves aid the wearers speed.
Powers
- has what is essentially a suit of powered armour, just fueled by magic
Weaknesses
- incredibly expensive to maintain
- Hard to find parts

Canary Girl
One of the many women who joined the workforce to aid the war effort Bernice Green was exposed to many chemicals while she was making munitions. While she is an American citizen she was living an working in Britain when her abilities manifested, a pushy and amorous supervisor had cornered Bernice in a storeroom, his advances came to an end when her powers created a sten gun out of the surrounding materials.
Powers
- Can make any weapon or ordinance she knows how to make out of surrounding materials.
- can cause her power to use another person's weapons as parts.
-While she can produce a weapon from it's atomic components she finds it easier when the materials available are closer to the finished product.

The Harlem Hercules aka The human handgrenade.
Mathew Hewes signed up to help with the war effort, because he is an African American he got placed in a non combat role, loading freight. When the Germans launched an Atomkrieger assisted u-boat raid on the port where he was stationed. In the wrong place at the wrong time Matt and the servicemen with him got caught up in the fight. Things did not go well for Matt, minutes later his friends were killed and he was held, suspended by his throat by the Atomkrieger who had powered the U-boat. In that desperate moment Matt pulled a grenade of the Atomkrieger's belt and threw it into an open hatch on the submarine. Unknown to Matt the grenade landed amongst the explosives that had been prepared for the raid. The explosion was immense. Matt survived and changed, becoming what the press dubbed the "Hercules from Harlem".
Powers
- Very strong
- Incredibly tough especially against explosives
- Fast and phenomenally coordinated
- Can generate blasts of explosive force from his body
- Can use these blasts to propel himself in a ballistic manner.
Weaknesses
- His explosive generating ability is very hard on his equipment, as well as his clothes.

Behemoth
George Hines was found by the agents of the department of war running a carnival sideshow. He has the ability to manipulate a single object he is touching with telekinesis. He can however manipulate very large objects. The army made him what is basically a humanoid puppet, made out of steel and iron, 60 feet tall.
Powers
- touch only telekenetic
- 60 foot tall humanoid "puppet" made of almost solid steel
- the behemoth has a lower ground effect than normal physics would dictate.
Weaknesses
- The behemoth is a fairly simple construction, no guns or complex weapons. A baseball team has donated a 40 foot bat.

Cobalt
Long before the Roswell UFO incident there was what was known as the "mysterious airships" one of these had crashed in Montana. One of the things recovered from the devastating crash site was a wire made out of a cobalt blue metal. This metal has a unique property it can transform electrical energy into kinetic energy. As altering the wire reduced the efficiency of the process the material was shelved for later study. Research into the remains of an Atomkrieger body recovered from the Russians resulted in what was believed to be a viable sample of the Atomkrieger compound. This was given to the most likely volunteer a Captain Lance Wilson. All the captain's physical capabilities improved though not greatly, he did develop the ability to produce electricity when exposed to radiation. Agent Kevin Grey who is in charge of the covert aspects of the Long Island project made the connection between Captain Lance's electrical generation and the cobalt metal. A metallic blue body suit was woven from the wire and after much experimentation "Cobolt" took to the skies.
Powers
- Flight
- Fairly resistant
- Can attack with electricity when not in the suit.
Weaknesses
- Fueled by radioactive materials
- Sparks literally fly when he is in the presence of Flygirl

It is yet to be seen if Liberation Force can be something greater than a valuable tool for propaganda.
