Re: Munchkin Ogre?
It was floated as an April Fool's joke a number of years ago, and IIRC some stuff from Ogre made its way into Star Munchkin, but last I'd heard the official response was "Please stop asking, it was just a joke."
I do think there's a good bit of potential there, though...Chassis, Treads, Sensors replace armor, footgear, and headgear. Factions [PEF / NAC / Nihon / etc] and marks/designations [Mk.III, Mk.V, Fencer, Vulcan could be a straight drop-in replacement for Dwarf] as races and classes. Conventional units make up the bulk of the monsters [including the Level 1 Cardboard Command Post].
The biggest problems are going to be how narrow the subject material is [non-licensed Munchkin sets are usually love letters to an entire genre], filling out a full set of decks with distinct cards, making the one-shots / 0-hand items interesting, and preserving the series' signature humor.
...no, I haven't put way too much thought into this over the last few months, why do you ask?
