D&D game, the party rogue is a male Tabaxi (a cat-person). He's just been asked by another character whether we need to worry about noise when we open the door he just unlocked.

What the player meant to say: No, I oiled the hinges.

What the player said: No, I sprayed the door.

(To be fair, the player had been doing some home maintenance before game, including spraying WD-40 on several hinges. We're reasonably sure the Forgotten Realms doesn't have that magic potion, though :) .)
