Don't worry, your characters wouldn't know anything about the rest of the Traveller universe, either! As for Transhuman Space, you're basically a bunch of comet mining and/or herding tranhumanists who cruise around in your ships. The templates and whatnot are in Changing Times; Limited AI is 82 points, and Sapient AI is 153. An interface implant is -100 for the infomorph(s) living in it; the biological person it's implanted in buys it as an Ally with the Always (x4) modifier. I'll tell you if you violate one of the template's taboos or give yourself a trait it already has.

A note:
There's something of a tradition of shadowswapping. Basically, whenever Gypsy Angels get into a romantic relationship, they'll create low-resolution brainscans (as the high-resolution ones require destructive uploading) and trade them so that the each one is running the other in an interface implant; often they'll have between 1 and 3 running at once.
