That may be an artifact of the POV aspect of fluff, however; everyone sees that as the Nephandi endgame, because they can't see how, once you've torn down reality itself,
anything could be built in its place. They
think the Nephandi just want to destroy everything for the sake of destruction. (And the Nephandi, for reasons of their own, aren't sharing. Maybe they fear that if too many people stuck their hands in, it might ruin the paradise they hope to create?)
