It takes a few turns to grasp the gameplay, especially if a player is approaching the game as "I love Munchkin, I know Munchkin!" and doesn't have experience with some of the larger CCGs out there.

The best way I have found to teach is to _not_ play against someone. Find two people and teach them together, going slowly and offering advice. When the lightbulb clicks, the new players start to take control and make their own decisions.

Also, each class does have a different feel.
