Both options sound good, the walls of the bus do have a lot of DR; but certainly, you could break faster trough the emergency exit using the sword than pulling the levers.

This would allow you to shoot through the window or make your way out of the bus.

Remember there are 2 droids in one side (looking to your right) and 1 droid to your left.
