Sure, that'd be cool! Some things are appropriate depending on how they're handled (a medusa or a tengu) and others are not (a robot or atomic horror).
The things I don't want are either from some other genre, such as fantasy (elves and dwarves) or science fiction (with the robots). But drawing from other cultures' mythologies is something I'd like to see.
One more thing: nothing

am willing to make exceptions. A nine foot tall giant is out. A cyclops... probably out too.
