Default Re: New player with lots of questions

As a general rule, we prefer not to have a lot of unrelated questions in a single post. However, your questions are quick, so I'm going to answer them rather than split this up.

Yes, you can loot/look for trouble following a Curse.

Looting the Room means you cannot Look for Trouble that turn. It's one or the other.

Monsters fight you together; you have to beat their combined combat strength. Monster Enhancers (the cards that say "-5/+5/+10 to Monster") apply to a specific monster; other bonuses apply to the monster side collectively.

Only one person gets to join the combat as a helper. Anyone may play one-shot cards to help either side.

The person playing the card chooses which side to help.

Yes, and only Items in play.

You can play a Race or Class as soon as you get the card, or at any time on your turn. Everyone has a chance to play cards before the game officially gets underway; you don't have to wait until your turn.

No, they stick together. If you can't beat them all, combined, you have to Run Away from each monster.

As a general rule, and noting that there are some exceptions in specific sets: Your active Class and Race cards (plus Super Munchkin and Half-Breed). Items (any cards with a Gold Piece value printed on them), as long as you only have one Big item on the table. Some special Treasure cards such as Really Impressive Title that look like permanent Items can also be played on the table. Cheat! is played with an Item. Hireling can be played with an Item or on its own, and you can change out the Item that goes with it when you feel like.

Cards you cannot keep in play: Spare Class and Race cards. Monsters. Monster Enhancers. Wandering Monster. Curses (unless it is a Curse with an ongoing or upcoming effect, kept out as a reminder). Super Munchkin or Half-Breed without a Class or Race card, respectively. Cheat! without an Item card.
