Default Re: The 2018 Digital Release Speculation Thread

One big question for 2018 would seem to be, “What is PK working on?”

Obviously, it could be a complete surprise. Cabaret Chicks on Ice! A licensed omnibus conversion of Twilight: 2000! An adaptation of SeaQuest DSV to celebrate the series’ declared setting of 2018! GURPS World of Darkness: Nose-roids!

But it’s got to be something fairly massive, given that he’s been at it for a while. A second boxed set would seem odd, so soon in the life of DFRPG. What else do we know about that’s big?

It’s unlikely to be VDS; that editing job seems to me more like a Kromm project (though I’d love to be wrong). We know that Bestiary has been re-imagined as a series of smaller books rather than as one gigantic tome, so that task seems improbable, too.

But how about Girl Genius? We know PK did some early work on the title before it was tabled. The published comic collections just finished a “first adventure” and started a second, which offers a clean, logical boundary for a game adaptation, with an obvious option for follow-on titles. Phil Master’s ongoing line of Steampunk supplements offer some easy bridges from a stand-alone PBG:GG back to the generic rules and supplements. Like Mars Attacks, the piece would come with plenty of existing art, removing one tedious and expensive part of the production process.

So, PK, are you in ze madness place, trying to finish your creation for full-color print publication by GenCon?
